The Brand



In this last phase, the brands from phase 2 were selected to be develop which are
Cutecircuit and Casio using the methods and materials of the brand.

The brand aimed to be a fashion collaboration of Cutecircuit which is a fashion brand and Casio, The manufacturer which combines the 2.5D technology printer in order to create the dress.
In this brand, I created an integration of the two brands as a tools to architectural design which was a collection of skirt. The skirts are products from the collaboration.






The Context

Derived from the skirt, The purpose of this architectural design was to be a 'Fashion Pavilion' hosting a fashion show of Cutecircuit collaboration with Casio along with exhibition and evolution of the Cutecircuit as a fashion brand. 

The Pavilion was located in the centre of ' The Somerset House ' courtyard which was held many events, most importantly The London Fashion Week in every year. As the site is the landmark of London, built in the Neo-Classical style the design was to be contrast with harmony with the existed building, a Juxtaposition.



The programs inside the pavilion were arranged in linear form.
Starting from the entrance facing the Lobby followed by The Galleries and Corridor then an Exhibition Area and Front Row Seating then finally The Main Stage of the Fashion Show.



The typology of the spaces were divided by the ' Symmetrical Pattern ' of the Site.
Then extracted and transformed into the space bay a circle with difference diameters.
As well as the perforation that happens during making the skirt as a light control.



The Design

The design of the pavilion directly inspired from the products resulted from the collabs which are the collection of the skirt. Transforming each layer of the skirts as a wall arranging them into the space.

PHASE 2 : MATERIALS MEME

In this second phase, the materials and its interpretation of the brands were the things that are explored. The use of materials could be both from the integration of the brands or the real material or even the process of the materials.

These are the two brands that were focused on how I could take the materials out which were

Casio



from the brand Casio I was highly concentatred on how I could Recreate the process as well as the outcome.
The process of the original casio printer was to use heat in order to create the texture on to the paper.
In this phase I did the similar process which I used heat to create texture in a different way.

The Materials

Foil Paper
Iron
Parchment paper

The Process

I used Iron as a printer. The heat was transferred to the foil paper and then the texture was created.

These are the materials that didn't respond to heat like the foil paper. The experiments show us the contrast of the quality of the materials.


Cutecircuit




Cutecircuit was the brand that has various types of products. But the main concept of the brand is to show how the outfits can interact with the body as well as being creative and innovative. 
From the previous phase, I chose Graphene Dress as an analysis of the material of the brand which still continue to this experiment. I chose to recreate the effect of the dress and how the human body can take part of the dress.

The Process



To recreate the glow-in-the-dark and changing-colour effect as the Graphene Dress was I chose those powder to represent the brand.

The experiments showed the possibility of the recreation of the effect as well as being part of the human body scale.

PHASE 1 : BRAND GENETICS

PROJECT 1.1 : BRAND GENETICS

In this phase, I chose 3 brands to study and analyze the brand, the materials and the methods.

SHUTTERSTOCK

The first brand I chose is Shutterstock. Shutterstock is the website that host stock photography, stock footage, stock music, and editing tools provider.



The second plate was created to study the materials and method of the brands which was focusing on how the Shutterstock search engines work.



CASIO

The second brand is Casio. Casio is a Japanese electronics and commercial electronics manufacturing company headquartered in ShibuyaTokyoJapan


The second plate of Casio is the study of a specific products which is a Morfel, An innovative 2.5D printer that translate an images in to the real texture. 


CUTECIRCUIT

CUTECIRCUIT is a fashion company that dedicated to a wearable technology and interactive fashion.


Then in the second plate, I chose the latest outfits that was designed and produced by CUTECIRCUIT which was a Graphene dress, the dress that changes colours every time the wearer's breath.


THE INTEGRATED IDEA

In this plate, I was choosing the possibility that the three brands would combine and come together. The idea was to use Shutterstock as a library and search engines for images. Then the images that is digital will be transformed into a physical material by using the methods that the 2.5D printer works. After the images were translated into real materials we could use this opportunity to design the objects that respond to user and environment that possibly interactive like the cutecircuit dresses.
