Patr Vacharanukulkiet (P), Phase 3

PHASE 3
Proliferate : Contemporary Business Futures

This project phase, each individual have to design the future enterprise using the
source materials researched and developed components from the previous phase to produce an
architectural proposal which positions business/brand against future private/public space.

Here is choose the Spanish shoe brand named 'Maians' which was one of my case study brand.
At the moment the brand is trying very hard to adapt to the contemporary world, and they are forgetting their actual core value and concept of the brand which was the idea of 'crafts and traditional shoe making heritage'. Therefore, i choose to further develop the space for the brand
and increase the value of both brand and the product by creating the brand identity to be distinguishable through the ideas and component developed from the previous phase.

Maians's core identity has been revised and with the idea of flexibility, Maians is now involve
people participation. The space is open for customer to visit and learn about the history of the brand, see the exhibition, experience the space, participating in workshop and customize their own shoes. This type of store would spread to different parts of the world acquiring the shophouses and
apply the same programs and space planing.

Using the ideas of light weight, flexible, adaptable and material from the previous phase,
I decide to design the 'Flexible...Unity Store', which would create the atmosphere and feeling
for the customer who visit the store. The space, is created from the previous phase material
which is deformed by the topography. The topography will be made of the local natural material depending on the region and the country that the store will be open.

The site of the installation is selected under few requirements. The site is shophouse since shophouses is quite similar around the world especially in asia. Here is choose it to be
in the center of the commercial area of Thailand, in Siam square, Soi 3.

The space consist of tree floors arranging the program in a linear sequence, attracting the
customer  through the workshop in front and the interior is planed in such a way that direct the visitors to walk and experience the space throughout the building. Seeing the gallery and story
of the brand and exhibition, the store, and customize their own collection.

Collages of atmospheric representation starting from the top-left to right, 1. The small workshop,
2. The gallery, 3. Exhibition, 4. The store, 5. Self customize, 6. The topography used instead of stairs.

A Filfinity
(Water Filtration Brand)

From phase1 : Three brand that I got are H2hydroponic, Earlysense, and Rotor

H2hydroponic is about growing plant by use mineral nutrient to feed plant in water without soil. They use new system which is more friendly, efficient and sustainable by use new and unique concept of irrigation.
Key words: Water pump and recycle water

Earlysense is about patient monitoring to enhance safety and reduce risk for general care patients. They focused on develop the patient monitoring system for hospitals, healthcare system, integrated delivery network and rehabilitation centers.
Without touching the patient, the system provides continuous patient monitoring
for heart rate, respiratory rate, falls and motion movement.
Key words: Monitoring system and Trust

Rotor is about a group of people that interest in the material flow in industry and construction. They handle the conception of design and architectural projects.
Key words: Recycle waste and Loop

Effect to phase2 : Material that I choose is Water pump. This is the idea that link water pump with the filters by used pump to make pressure and push water from ground to top. This can link with water in our daily life. In one day we use 300-378 liters of water per person. So, the filtration system can help us to save water by reuse it in the better way.

So, in phase3 : I create a new brand name A filfinity which is a water filtration brand
that have a function of hot tub therapy inside the building.

Brand

The location that I choose is Hutong, Beijing in Northern of China. Because in Beijing, a quality of water is very low, more pollution and lack of fresh local water. They cannot water as much as they want because the government control the resource. So, this company recycle water over and over by using filter in 6 layers. Moreover, Northern China have a cold temperature and they have many local people and many traveler in there country. So, people can come to use this hot tub for therapy. People will keep warm temperature in their body for stay in the cold temperature.

Context

This is a vertical building because in Hutong not have too much area. This building have 6 floors (follow the filters) and underground floor.
Plan

People will come into the building from Hutong house and go to the entrance in underground. Start from change a cloth then go up to the highest floor by stair at the center. Each floor have different temperature of water and different size of tub.
Moreover, people can feel the atmosphere around (of light and sound) from a different filters.

This diagram show how water work in the building which is come to be a loop cycle.

Pancharee Rujiraarporn - Project 1.3

Faternal Twin

Branding

- Farm Lab -
Developing from SPACE10, as an extension to the original 4 Labs ( Digital Fabrication, Natural Interface, Shared Living and Food Lab), combining that to the idea of a living architectonic material from the Green Biz by Komatsu Seiren and the collective intelligence system by CivicWise. I'd like to introduce the company to the new Farm Lab  where a botanical garden is created to serve the intention of developing and redefining the mindset people has for farming. Every one aims to find a material that best suit the purpose of growing food at home while also living a busy life. This medium that is fully organic but does not need to be taken care of.

Content

- Components of the Lab -
Containing several programs above and under ground. The whole Lab aims to be greatly public so there are no fence. The whole area of the space serves a fully functional Lab, self-sufficient restaurant , gallery, farm and botanical garden. The Farm Lab is meant to have a timeline cycle , not being built at once but slowly starting from one space to another as if the lab itself is "growing" and "decaying".

Site

- Malta -
The site I've chosen is the island under Italy, Malta. Malta was chosen because of three main ideas; first being the hot and dry climate it has in addition to the country being an island which means limited resources, this supports the idea of the Lab developing a material that will allow people to grow crops in any climate whatsoever. Secondly, the capital of Malta, Valetta, has a very small percentage of green space in terms of their urban and therefore we'd like to get local people to be more involved with nature and more aware of the eco-living life style. Last, Malta is currently a very popular tourist attraction. We aim to use this benefit to get most variety of people to be involved in the Lab as possible.

Plan

- Zoning -
The Botanical Garden itself splits into 4 main areas, the fruit farm, plant farm, vegetable farm and the restaurant. The farms are where people  experiment with the types of vegetation that will be suitable to their type of growing medium. In addition to that, we have the restaurant area where it acts a s a main spot for tourist attraction, the ingredients used in the menus will be from the farms they grow.

Section

- Definition of Private and Public Space -
Everywhere is public, however, there are underground space and above ground space. The buildings submerged from the underground will help with not only reaching natural light source, but also connecting all the spaces together.

Elevation

- The Boundary of the Lab and the Outside -
I've chosen the height of the space to define the importance of space hierarchy. The lower grounds are less important and  the higher ones are more important. Because I've chosen to not use any fence, I chose to lift the whole space up to define a clear entrance.

KANCHAPORN KIEATKHAJORNRIT : PROLIFERATE: CONTEMPORARY BUSINESS FUTURES

Proliferate: Contemporary Business Futures

Develop your chosen brand to produce an architectural
the proposal which positions business/brand against
future private/public space. Define the enterprise
genetically, materially and contextually.

In this last phase of the project, combining all ideas and concept from study case in phase one, as well as the material and experiment from phase two, to become the new brand,
'By-cycle' a company selling electric bicycle service and providing social space for users in the community in order to complete a better version of urban lifestyle cycle by biking bicycle.

The brand mission is to encourage people not only to save the limited energy and resources but also to generate energy back to the society, this brand is designed for everyone, every age, not only for local people but also tourists.

The brand is separated into two parts, Co-Cycle, the headquarter and Rest-Cycle, the substation. Co-Cycle is the centre of the network located on the river in form of a bridge. Apart from providing convenience to bikers, Co-Cycle serves co-working space where people can find inspiration, share ideas, in green. Rest-Cycle is the rest area as a network of the station for all bikers located around the city in order to provide all users need for example; seats, bicycle parking, beverages, air pump, bike chain repair kits, etc.

As Bangkok is the capital of Thailand which has been confronting with
transportation, green space and pollution issues for so long, hence, the idea of
By-Cycle station network around the city will solve all these problems.

The mapping diagram shows, network of location for each station, the route for bicycle and the spreading of project throughout time.

As the station needs to cover all area of Bangkok, which consisted of different typography, different size of space and different form, the idea of adaptation of the mechanic is used in the design to allow system to be placed anywhere perfectly fit.

The first mechanic is the idea of modular working as the jigsaw, each element can fit together and form in various of shape. Hanging system is used in all design as this system will help to reduce the space touching the floor, also this new design will hang, connect to the existing structure to blend in with the environment of the city. Another mechanic is developed from the previous experiment, the use of fabric and motor to create the rhythm in the change of space as the fabric acts as the boundary. The energy that used for the motor to work is from generating from the movement fabric and bicycle.

Plan and elevation of the co-cycle which is the contain many programs such as a park, exercise space, working space and etc.

Here are the examples of the rest cycle which took place around the city, each of them has different functions and different sizes, however, they all sharing the same system.
Between the shophouse can be a small working area for users, the social space for people to interact. Under the highway, can be the place for the user to have fun with a bicycle riding, extreme ride. Or even very small space under the overpass and next to the electric pole  can also be the small station for a liltle stop and park the bicycle.
