Continuing from the last phase, since the experiment on the material, what I have found was the structural element from adidas which leads to the idea of structural support. For this phase, the purpose of the building is the "adidas national team house". The idea was a temporary building that provides for sport events such as the Olympic game which can divide into 3 phase: first is the building for the athlete and their family to temporarily live and the preparation; second for more intense situation, the space will provide privacy for just the athletes themselves and their coaches to concentrate on their game; and the last phase of this building is to provide the memorial for the events the space will provide a gallery, exhibition and the souvenir stores for public to access.
This plate briefly shows the overall area around Tokyo, the chosen site, where the 2020 Olympic took place. The map shows the density of the population, the transportation and the popularity of baseball which consider as the first team sport in Japan.
The comparison plate will clearly show the idea of the sole structure will borrow the concept of the performance. The different zone of the sole provides a different ability of the performance. Therefore the idea of the building is the adjustable structure in order to serve the different program in the different period of time.
The location of the building was located in the middle of Meiji Jingu outer garden when located near the national stadium of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic game. The surrounding are 6 baseball field and 1 inner baseball court which allow the building the provide best performance for the team.
The structural details plate explain the function of the building such as the adjustable wall, the locking system and the seismic resistant specially for Japan.
Continuing from the last phase by experimenting on a series of experiments and reproductions, creating a research trajectory on selected candidate materials. Conduct iterative design experiments towards an architectural component which positions material capacity as a fundamental seed for design development.
For the first experiment, using the concept of IFTTT, the idea of online services that connect a huge applications and services to one another in order to create new experiment. IFTTT works as a intermediary to pull a distinctive identities of each services and combine together. Therefore, I use the idea of combining thing together in order to create new material that compose more than one characteristic. As concrete has its initial form as a small particle which is easier to mix with other materials, i brought concrete and mix with several material that have their unique performance such as : GEL GLUE TIMBER OPTIC FIBRE FLUORESCENT POWDER PLASTIC ETC.
In component plate, there were some examples of how can each new material can purpose one architectural component.

1. The first one is the concrete combine with optic fibre which have ability to transmit light between the two ends of the fibre.
2. The second material is the gel ,which gel itself very fragile, soft and exhibits no flow when in the steady-state but will change into liquid when receive heat,however when it mix with concrete, it more harder but still soft.
3. As the timber have a characteristic as an insulator, when it mix with concrete it compose a mixture of insulator material.
4. The last one was the mixture of concrete with fluorescent powder in order to make the concrete glow in the dark.
For the second experiment, borrows the concept from adidas sole, I focusing on the topic of compression and flexibility of material. For the initial experiment, I purpose a sample of a material that similar to sole which is napkin, scotch brite, bread, and straw.

From the experiment I found out that straw have more ability to bounce back but still remain the same form, therefore I continue choose the straw and work on other arrangement.
In the Evolve plate shows the mapping of the first experiment to see the change of each material and the come up idea of the component by arranging the straw.
In the component plate, it shows the combination of various cross that happen in one space which can become both ceiling for one floor and floor for the other. The most dense part for a space that need high compression force while the more wide cross for the space that need more flexible fore the program. As there are two obvious type of arrangement the support have to be different. I purpose two type of pillar ; first one for dense cross which already well-support therefore a single solid stand is enough for the component itself, however the more wide cross need more support therefore the structure of the pillar has to be more complicated.
In the context plate shows the arrangement of the space and the composition of the component. as the floor and the ceiling have a same system : wide cross , normal cross and dense cross; the space can be adjustable which serve a different purpose of the program above or below the system of the wall were stacking as same as a form if straw allowing the empty space which other component can add in between. using the experiment on IFTTT give various type of material that also provide a different function.
